Lazer Gears
I got a few Lazer cut blanks recently on 'special' I have done a few but this was something else again ,not for the faint hearted or impatient crowd hehe. Took me about 2 hrs to assemble all the bits, even the barrel was in pieces . Result will not be everyones cup of tea ,but as a retired fitter and turner this appeals to me hehe. Dyed maple and CA finish on a sierra vista chrome Kit . Cheers ~ John

Looks great John!
Any particular reason the gears aren't centered on the blank?

More good stuff John, yes you need patience with the laser ones, try the Oz flag out that is areal challenge. All stars only go in one hole and each point has to be in its correct spot as well.
Variety is the spice of life they say.

Les ,The blanks have considerable overhang on the tubes ,I tried to centre it ,but it moved in the blank while the epoxy was still wet,,by the time I noticed it was too late too shift it, I tried but no luck, I could of cut a short bit of a sierra tube and glue that in ,but decided not to as it may not have lined up and I may have had a very small amount for the press fitted end . cheers ~ John

I really like them John, well worth the effort in my opinion. As a F&T myself, it would be great to go to one of the suppliers training coarses and get something like that instead of the 50 cent generic pens that are usually given away. The price might be a bit out of their range though.
