    Default Olympia

Gold dressed in Australian Red Gum. The Red Gum was provided through the generosity of John (Gawdeplus).
Finished with 6 coats of Minwax Clear Gloss Poly.
The Olympia is one of my best "Lower End Pen" sellers.
As always comments and or suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks for looking.

    Les

    Thumbs up

What can I say that I haven't said of your work in the past Les??

You and Peter have the ability to draw the best out of everything. No need for embellishments and still a great looking pen, despite the ordinary grain.

    Hey Les,

Beautiful pen, Looks a lot like the European that I use except for the centre band, Red Gum is a bit like Jarrah. How long does the minawax take between coats.??

    Thanks

Depending on room temperature and humidity, it will dry within 2-6 hours.
    I re-coat mine within 2 hours.

Les ! as usual you made an outstanding pen from an "ordinary" bit of wood hehe, god knows what you would do with some of our premium timbers lol, glad you enjoyed it as we all enjoy seeing your treatments ,cheers ~ John

More outstanding work Les and you still have the Wow! factor there in your WOP.

In summer over here about 2 hours I find and I now use the suns heat to harden it works a treat as long as there is no dust in the air.
