Default First Pen after a Hiatus of 4mths from Penturning

Have been hanging to get out in the shed to do some pens, but something or other always came up.

With getting the shed built, work and still yet to get power to it , finally got some time today

Turned up a Baron Roller-ball in Ringed Gidgee that I glued up last December.

Finish is a new one for me. 1 coat of Thin CA to seal then sanded to 1200 then 3 coats med CA, after each application of CA it was then hit with accelerator, then wet sanded from 1500 MM to 12000 MM. That's it, no EEE, wax or polish of any type.

Still have to play around with the finishing, this one might end up back on the lathe and get redone as the CA cracked a little on the ends from removing bushes even though I had coated them with Wax, they still stuck to the tube
    Cheers

I must get some of the different tickness of CA I have only been using the thin one no accelerator

You won't know youeself when you get the power on the shed

The pen is excellent and that gidgee is spectacular

Who says this is my worst pen , don't worry to much about it Bernie I have done some that went straight into the scraps bin or turned the timber off the tube and started again

    G'day DJ,
What a way to make a comeback! The wood is awesome, the finish is brilliant, and the pen kit sets it off well. Well done.

    Cheers,

This comes from my own private stash that I got from Rarewoods before they shut down. Was able to go through the lot they got in before it was put out in the shop

Very few people get to see this stash of mine as it is hard enough to get without having to pay through the nose for it
    Cheers

Look, mate. I make pens and I'll buy that from you. Name your price. Nicely done.

Apparently, I still got a long way to go. Every time I start to feel like I can turn a pen, you guys go and raise the bar.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

It's a puddytat pen. Don't ya think that the gidgee reminds one of cat fur?

"No Mr.Bond, i expect you to die," said the nasty man as he stroked his <insert ad> Dj's Marvellous Puddytat Pens <close>.

It's a nice puddytat pen. Bugger, i am sounding more and more like Trevor Chappell.
