Polaris in cracked olive!
I have an Aunty named Olive - she is a little cracked. Just like this wood blank!
I stabalised with CA, and held my breath. 20 layers of CA/BLO should hold it together, I hope!
Timber is a bit of George's Olive root, pretending to be burl. It's very beautiful!

If the blank was thoroughly glued to the tube, then it should last a long time. (One of the reasons I prefer gluing to the tube with araldite rather than CA.) Also, only the first coat of CA would penetrate the cracks and contribute to "holding it together", as any coats over that are just plastic wrapping.
But I'm being technically pedantic. (I'm in one of those moods. )
In real terms, if it survived the stresses of being poked with a steel stick while whizzing around at umpteen RPM, then the odds are very good it'll hold together well enough for Auntie.
Unless she has a severe case of "the dropsies?"
(Which would be bad news for many of the pens seen on these forums anyway. )

I use titebond III for gluing in the blanks. I hope that's ok, seems to work well.
