    Default question about my leda

    Gidday Skew or anyone who can help me. Yesterday my tailstock handle (the plastic one)got broken off. We are wondering can you get replacements for this?

    Yes. That's my one and only complaint about the Leda... the 'orrible plastic handles on the tailstock and banjo.

    I think Jim Carroll would probably be able to source one for you, but I went the pricier route of getting the metal ones for the equivalent JET lathe instead. Exactly the same, just made from cast aluminium (I think) instead of plastic. And probably twice the price.

    I'll have to look through the paperwork to find the price and who I got mine through... and that will take a while. It was quite a while ago and I hate paperwork so all my receipts are thrown unsorted into cardboard boxes.

    I dealt direct with leda for some parts for my TS. They were excellent. If you can't get help locally, call them in SA.

    why bother get a long bolt that fits and turn a handle .Im about to do that with my drill press ,another sub-standard plastic handle.
    insanity is a state of mind if you don't mind it does not matter.
