    Default Saturday Sierra's

Hey Guys. I actuall had a tiny bit of shed time on Sat morning, so rather than mow the lawn, I knocked up a couple of pens, ha ha. One is spalted Mango & the other Red Malley Burl. Usual 20 coates of CA etc. Cheers.

Nice work. I have had trouble with a couple of my Sierra's not funtioning correctly. That is they do not push the refill out but just either turn to no effect or unscrew. Have you had that problem??

Very nice, your pics always look good too. No matter how glossy the finish I get I can never get that look in the photos. I really like that spalted mango, well done.

Some of the sierra activators can be a bit stiff with the grease ,I have loosened them up by using a small squirt of wd40 or similar then blowing through with air. that will free it up a bit . if it still doesnt grip tight enough a drop of ca spread around the very end can build it up enough to grip ,as a last resort a gentle sqeeze with pliers to make it slightly oval therefore a bit tighter in the cap ,no guarantees on these methods cheers John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Hey John. Yes, these are from David (Timberbits) 'Australiana' range. And I have changed my CA aplicator to 'TOILET PAPER', yes, you heard it first here ! I can get several nice little applicator pads per doubled up bit of paper, and the CA seems to last a few more seconds before going off, and it really puts a smooth even coat on. I now don't bother to use the first 3 MM pads as the finish is already very smooth. I don't however recomend using 2nd hand paper

Nice pens!! Clean toilet paper is not a first though that's what I have been using since I started making pens, not that that was too long ago though

    Cheers
