Streamlines
Here are a few streamlines I made today I have been wanting to use these UK Blanks that I got from Mark at 043Turning a couple of years ago but everytime I tried to make something with this type of blank I would stuff it up LOL I had tried many different tools including the wood pen Pro type of things but recently made a couple of the round carbide cutters one 11mm and the other is 17mm and bouy don't they make a difference when it come to doing Acrylics and I found it great to use on all the Truestone blanks that I have. they have been great so I though I would give them a go on the UK blanks and what a relief it was much much easier. Here are todays conquests and I look forward to your comments.
Cheers Ian
Ps the first pen is just your average Acrylic and the other 2 are the UK blanks that are available from 043Turning

Hey Ian,
Well done, Nice finish, what did you use ??
I have just made a couple of replacable cutter type tools, and took them done the Woodturners group tonight, had a couple of the guys have a go and they were impressed, I will get some pics and do a post tomorrow.

Three beauties Ian, perfect in every way. Yeah, I have had patchy success with my Pen Pro too. Lost count of the good acrylic blanks that just seem to explode when using it, (prolly just me tho). Gone back to my 3/4" roughing gouge and had no dramas. I reckon the main problem with turning acrylics is that they really dull your tools FAST. Then you automatically begin to apply more pressure to the spinning blank, then BANG.
I never forget anything I remember !!
