    Default A Trio of Sierras

A trio of Sierras that I did the other day. Peter will smile I must be mellowing in style, people who know my work, know that I am a B2B turner but these do have a slight curve to them. The first should be a Pink Camo Acrylic on a gun metal and chrome kit, the second is a Paua Shell Chip on a gun metal and gold kit and the third is a Circuit Board on a gold and gun metal kit. The pen blanks came from GPW and kits from Timberbits. Comments welcome.

    Cheers
    Darren

And smile I did Darren still restrained curving is what suits a short material pen to help change the design and pattern.

Neat colours and I am always impressed by circuit board pens as well.

Before long sellers of pens to order will be faced with horrendous choice of materials and pen kits, time will dissapear behind the scenes, pricing becomes strange and freedom to live comfortably change. When I say comfortably I mean relaxed and family oriented, demand overtakes supply, deadlines increase and its back to work not a hobby.

You are a busy bloke Darren really happy to see and hear from you.

    Kind regards Peter.

Just too pretty Darren hehe ! these kits do lend themselves to either B2B , or as you have done, a slight curve is in order as well to continue the flows cheers ~ John

Peter thank you for your kind wishes. I am glad it brought a smile to your face. Yes I fully understand about a hobby becoming work and taking you away from things of more importance, family. Many have said make it a business because I am good. That I don't see, for there are more talented pen crafters here than I.

I do customer orders occasionally, for special gifts like 2 gemstones I am trying to complete. I am taking a break now because the concentration for me is intense or maybe I just don't want to stuff it up

Pen crafting is pure enjoyment and if I can sell some along the way then that is good. Pricing is always a contentious issue, many under priced, many over priced and many priced right but poor quality of finish. I was at a market away from town and there were Sierras on this table $125, different Burl timbers.

The person was telling a person that they were Black Ti and Ti Gold, they weren't, they were the same gun metal and gold kits I have posted. Pricing is up to the individual and I guess the honesty as well. Rambled enough, better get back to this gemstone.

Hey Daren. You've almost copied my efforts of a few weeks ago ha ha. Mine were slightly more 'el-gordo' than yours. I just like a bit of a beer belly on Sierra's. Yours are really choice. I had 12 pen blanks prepped for a big weekend of shed time, but ended up having to run around for SWMBO .

Hey Pariss thank you for your kind words. It is amazing how shed time gets interrupted by SWMBO or the daughter who needs a taxi. I try only for a minimal bump where I can get away with it. wanted to finish 3 pens today, got one and a half done, oh well there is always next week

Hey Ed be happy to send you a stick of it and some other stuff if you want to do a swap just PM me. Yes the pink is a winner, my 17 year old daughter claimed it before it even got to the display case.
