My first Trustone
Finished my first Trustone today, the blank is Royal Flame which is a nice purple colour however the photo looks more turquoise on my screen. I had a pretty big blowout on one end so took that area back to brass. Glued a bit of black cardboard to a scrap and drilled it out, then just glued then new bit onto the stuff up. Not overly happy with the save but it looks better than it did. Have another one ready to put together, just waiting for the kit to arrive.

Holy guacamole that's bright, even if it's not the right colour in the photo. I think the save looks fine from what I can see.

Very nice Corbs.
The blank is outstanding, very vivid, nice match of kit to blank and a excellent save.
The blow out with Tru-stone are there if it gets hot, keep it cool with water and very sharp tools.

Thanks guys, I really like the colour of the pen in the photo too... the purple is nice but not as nice as the photo. Sam, as you have said the blank does get hot fairly quickly. I alleviated this a little by having a wet piece of cloth next to the lathe and wiped over the blank every 3 or 4 passes. This seemed to work well and will do it for any other Trustone blanks I turn in future.
