Tulip Wood Fountain Pen
One I glued up a few months ago, just got round to turning it . First Fountain Pen for me too .
Kit is a Gold Churchill FP from APK in Tulipwood from CWS and finished in about 20 coats of thin CA and Micro Mesh to 12000 and polished with Rustins Burnishing Cream.Cheers

Love the colour of the Tulip wood, sometimes it is almost pink. Well done DJ, if you have of that Tulip wood try a Xcut, take great care because that wood fractures easily in the Xcut, but if it works out it is a great effect. Amos

not like zebrawood
It does to me, but it isn't strong enough that I could describe it.
I only notice it once I start turning it .. and rather than think
"Oh, this stuff stinks" it's more like "oh yeah.. this is familiar"
Not objectionable, somewhat sweet if I remember right.

Great looking FP DJ. Tulipwood is great because of the varing grain you never know what you will get till it's done, Pentastic
P.S. I would be interested in the procedure for using CA as a finish, and is there any thing that goes over the top of it ie shellawax and any other finish?
