    Default Wood/Acrylic Pen

While I know it's probably been done many times before, I decided to try combining wood & acrylic for a pen. Here's the result. (Still working on the polish)

(I know it's not exactly pen turning but I was interested to try a Perfume Spray Kit and it's similar to pen turning)
    Cheers all !!

What Stirlo said. The acrylic is a surprisingly good match with the timber and the white banding really sets it off!

The only criticism I have... the perfume applicator should've had a matching band so you had a very, very sellable ladies' set. (And IMHO perfume applicators, keyrings and similar items turned on a mandrel have every right to be in the pen turning threads as they're the perfect pen set accessories.)

    Query: what timber? Burl?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

thanks Guys, Timber is Goldfields Burl, and I agree, I wanted to turn a blue band but the only Acrylic I had was one for pens, which only had about 1/2 mm on the rough so I would have had a b........d of a jog trying to get enough to turn & polish.

But I agree it would have been good to match them. (The white banding was from a Credit Card (my wife's)..........(thanks for the tip Toni).
    Cheers all !!

    G'day Bruce,
Great job on the pens. I too like the mix. Very elegant. I think one of those butterfly pens would be really cool done with a similar method.

    Cheers,

    Rick
