    Default woodworking pencil question

I have seen in some of the online shops something that is called a woodworking pencil.

Has any one had any expeirience with this in terms of using it for it intended purpose?

I am thinking about getting about 5 - 6 of these and getting the coloured leads for my little girl as a special colouring pencil set.

Are thwey easy to operate? By the looks they are twist mechanisms ... my girl is 6 years old and seems to have the dexterity to operate slimlines and styles like that.

    Cheers,

I think this is the one your reffering to Pen Kits and Accessories - Pen Kits - Workshop Pencil Kit - Pen Kits, Craft & Timber suppliers - (Powered by CubeCart)

There are a couple of others all these are from 043turning.

I and a few others have made them, not difficult unless your forget to put it together in order.
They are however a clutch pencil not twist type, big an chunky to other smaller types are available.

Yep a clutch type ,you press the knurled end to release the lead (about 5 mm thick) also come with a screw on cap that doubles as a pencil sharpener . There is a smaller version from various suppliers (sometimes called an "artist pencil " or sketch pencil uses about 3 mm leads ,also with a pencil sharpener in the end . I havn't seen colors for the smaller pencil though . Have fun ,an easy project and work well cheers ~ John
