World Series Cricket
For a long time I have had a fascination for competitive Cricket so when Australia having been humiliated by teams like the West Indies had such a fabulous series against the worlds best succeeded so well I felt I will do a series of pens to celebrate
This pen simulates the bales at either end of the pitch that sit between the stumps keeping them apart and together and have become a vital indicator of whether a player is safe or bowled or the stumps hit when bowled or thrown.
Osage Orange is from part of a tree our Wood Guild Special Interest Group felled and cut.The tree was quite old and varied from good to great and sometimes spectacular. The brilliant orange and yellow displays for mine really well cut on the cross.Allen gave me some also I am waiting to dry from Wallan.

This one goes to the keeper.I am so excited by the prospects of the prepared blanks each one so exciting to me on its own merits.I try to mix pen turning with all those other pleasures of the day.
Thanks all who look and say and those that look,I do a lot of that as well,if I have a little time during the day I browse.
Regards to all. Peter

Nice bails Peter
Maybe with your series you should make them with a timber from the winning country and have them engraved accordingly
The cross grain has really shown off the timber
Look forward to more in the series
