I agree with you Nick. Three hours both ways stuck in an aeroplane with me knees stuck up my nose is not a lot of fun. I had high hopes of bringing my home built oval turning chuck down, but it was just too much of an effort. Plus there was a family crisis in the middle of it all.
Maybe, just maybe, next time, I can only hope.

If you look at photos 23-25 of post 149 you'll see Ken demonstrating how to reverse chuck a natural edge bowl for Grumpy John.
Ken used hot melt glue to securely fix it and then squirted metho through a syringe to loosen the hot melt glue without damaging the bowl.
This works with some hot melt glues but not all.I'm lucky it worked with mine.
