    Default a couple of bowls

    had some shed time today and turned these the square one is Oregon and the other is silky oak, silky one is about 8 inches in diameter.
    finished with Scandinavian oil for something different!

    Nice bowls, I find the symmetrical shape on the edge of the square bowl interesting..

    I was mainly concentrating on the curve from lip of bowl to corner of square and got that shape on the flat! I was pleased with it when I stopped the lathe, apart from some chip out on one of the flat side part!

    Looks like you've got a good finish on 'em, too. I'm also rather partial to the square one.

    I can foresee a few pine offcuts being wasted in the near future, exploring where that form could be taken...
