The "flower" bowl
Rained again yesterday and today, so spent more time "cleaning up". That got seriously interrupted when I found another partly started project. Actually they are pieces left over from another job. Into the lathe for the outside turning. So far so good, no surprises. Got into the inside and noticed some colour changes in the spinning mass. Stopped the machine and bloody hell, a flower. Note that the colour patches are solid timber, not veneer inlays. The timbers are white beech and red cedar. So now a new procedure to get a new effect. Must admit I was fairly chuffed and surprised at the outcome.

That is beatiful. I'm fairly new to turning so can't figure out how many separate pieces of wood you used. And how were they glued together?
