    Default Latest offerings

    It has been a while but here are a couple of
    turnings from the last week.

    On the left is a bowl complete with a grub hole
    which I managed to keep intact,
    In the centre a small paper clip bowl, and
    On the right a fairly shallow lidded bowl.

    All made of blackwood scraps.

    Note: This was my first lidded bowl which
    gradually diminished in size. Let's say the
    lid eventually fitted ok.

    Nice scraps Allan

    Like them all the one on he left looks great with the grub hole

    and the lidded bowl love the way the grain swirls opposite directions and ideal one to hide the peanut brittle in

    what did you finish with ??

    First two finished with Shellawax and Shellawax Glow.
    Lidded bowl with Danish Oil.

    T.L. ... Gotta get serious now and again.

    Allan,
    Pretty good job for scraps. I like the lidded one it worked out fine in the end.
    A golden rule in woodwork is to have the punters think that the finished result is meant to look the way it does. I tell people that I made the salt and pepper mills a bit different so they can tell them apart.
