Thought I might try my hand at a platter, not sure of the timber, just oiled and rub over with a rag

Very different, I was expecting a standard run of the mill platter but you've surprised me. The more I look at it the more I like it. Great work

Looks fantastic Hughie Might be better to make it a wall hanging though - wouldn't like to be trying to clean guacamole dip out of the carved bits

Thanks for all the positive comments. As I said I dont do very many platters if any at all so its good to get the feed back.
Its all hand carved with a fair bit of sanding especially across the end grain. Luckily the timber is soft and easy to work unlike the Eucalyptus bowl previously.
