    Default A few samples

    Hi folks,

Second try!! It looks like I posted to a thread that hasn't been used for years, I'm new round here and finding my way. This is just to show the sort of stuff I am doing. I've been turning regularly for just over two years now and am still learning the 'craft' to add to the 'art'.

Any comments or critique will be most welcome.

Well firstly, Welcome to the forum

For a 2 year old your doing damn fine. The carved peices look to have a thin walls and thats not an easy thing to do. So I would say your well into the ' Art' and moving very well

    Thanks Neil,

I only made one as a test and put it in the local gallery. Some nice French man bought it but only on the condition that I made another three!!! I hate making more than one of anything and I am bit of a grasshopper and find it hard to get my mind on one track for more than a few seconds at a time.

I now have an order for SIXTEEN of another design. Woe is me (but the money will help)

Thanks for the welcome Hughie. The walls on the pierced boxwood vase are EXACTLY 1.5mm all the way down. First and last time I have managed to achieve that.

There is quite a lot that I want to do that I haven't figured out the 'HOW' just yet. In theory, now I am officially retired, I should have the time.

So how come I am busier than ever???? Still, it stops the grasshopper from being bored.

    Hi Nick,

I am, by nature, a modest man () so won't take your comment TOO seriously.

Its nice to know you think so however. Thank you.
