Red face Need "SHERLINE" Lathe Info

    G'day people . . .

I have a Sherline WTL1024 lathe and the drive belt has perished (literally).

My local tool distributors have had no joy locating any Sherline parts . . . I need the belt replaced, so can anyone suggest a dealer reasonably close to Wollongong, NSW ? or even one that will deal by mail . . .

The best I can manage right now is to buy some tubing and connectors and make my own replacement, but would prefer the real deal . . .

Thanks in advance for any responses.

G'day Rex - Take the old belt to Repco or someone who specialises in drive belts. Will probably de quicker and cheaper.

    Cheers - Neil

Try a pulley and belt specialist, Neil is right but they can be a bit pricey.
They will probably have a better range too, speaking from experience with my ride on belts, mower shops wanted about $70 each and the pulley place was about $25.00.

No joy through that Sherline site - they have an Aussie distributor in Victoria, but they only deal in metal lathes exclusively for the past 5 or so years.

I have the lathe in the back of the wagon, I'm taking it to an Engineering mob who make drive belts . . . I'll update re the costs . . . hopefully it won't cost me an arm (need two to turn wood) and a leg (need two of these to kick the dog . . .)
