Turning on time
Perhaps this could have been in the "Clocks" section
but it is in "Woodturning" for now.
Wood is "Box Elder" with perspex.
Comments welcomed.

Wow. I mean WOW!
Better show the clock folk. They've been kind to me in threads and don't seem to bite.

Almost creepy as the background blends in making the clock look like it is floating.

That is a very nice piece. I like it a lot. Well done
If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

I saw this piece in the flesh today and it's truly a great piece of work.

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Neil, I clamped a piece of 3mm perspex to a board and
drilled the hole for the clock with a Forstner bit.
I then cut the outer circle with the bandsaw and trued
it up on the sander.
Then I recessed the rear rim of the circle to accommodate
the perspex and glued it in with a few drops of Gorilla Glue.
Would love to say it was all my idea but I did see something
similar at this year's WWW Show and could not rest until
I tried something along the same lines.
Ray, you should know me better than that. My photography
is never Photoshopped.

Whether it's your concept or one you've adapted, I think it looks great.
And I love the wood the smears or red though it are wonderful.Dragonfly
