Congratulations... a kindred spirit!
When I made something along those lines the forum gurus suggested putting a kink in the shaft so that the cutter remains in line with the axis, to reduce the lever effect. I complied.

Thanks F&E ... and I'd really like to add a 'kink' or gooseneck but haven't the means to do it (neither heating torch or the 20ton press)

20 ton? I have been pumping iron to keep fit but I would have never imagined I had become that strong!
