weekend with guilio marcolongo
hi guys
last weekend our local club had guilio grace us with a visit with a 1 day demo and a 3 day hands on tutorial
we had 3 items to make with his guidance along the way
first up was a goblet with a barley twist
, i used a dremel for it made from burdiken plum ,
the next item was a square edged bowl i used some amazingly figured mango ,with some ebonising and burning on the rim
and the last project was a winged box , we all cheated and glued up some scrap stuff as didnt want to smash knuckles , unknown wood and cocobolo finials top and bottom
then on the last day it was to finish up the last project then work on
something different
he said instead of the plain bowls and stuff everyone makes he wanted us to make something using a piece of timber and make it different/ arty
so i went browsing the shelves and found a banksia branch with a fork and also a small dead branch so i decided to give a arty farty vase a go
the greenish stuff is ebonising solution , with a macassor ebony finial
also im wanting to get some ideas on what to finish it with please
