    Default White Cedar Bowl

I got some chunks of White Cedar when I visited Stumpkicker a couple of weeks ago. Now it was still very green but being an impatient SOB I decided I'd have a go at microwaving it a bit to see how it would go.

So I roughed out a bowl and started nuking it. It took about 30 goes of 30 second bursts to dry it out before I could chuck it on the lathe. A few small surface cracks had appeared but other than that it looked pretty good.

Now this is only my second bowl and I had been warned that white cedar can be quite bad on end grain tear out so I took it nice and gentle and this is the result (personally I think it's going to make a great bowl for eating crisps from).

Dimensions are about 110mm diameter and 50mm high. Sanded to 600, oiled and then finished with Hut wax.

As always comments and critique are welcome.
