    Default Rot !!! Spores !!! Help !!!

Had some damage to the outside of the house...cedar clapboards over ply over 2x6 construction. The water rotted the ply and the corner of the house (2x6's coupled together to form a corner post). NOW, there is a mold- white spidery on the header and sill. I KNOW that this could grow and cause further damage. It would be a MAJOR job to cut into the header and sill. Any idea how to KILL this spore to prevent further damage???

A strong bleach will kill it.

A saturaded solution of copper sufate will prevent any further mould activity but ... will rust any nail in the vicinity unless it is galvanised.

To make a saturaded solution , put the SO4Cu cristals in a cloth, tie it up and hang it in the center of a container filled with water. Live it overnight. If there are still some cristals left, your solution is saturated. (I'm sorry but I don't remember the proportions.)
