Very Nice box , looks great. I would have to go with AlexS on the NG rosewood. I have attached a couple of shots of a jewelry cabinet I made a few years back out of NG rosewood and jarra for you to compare the color.

    Very nice cabinet mate

Does NG Rosewood have a distinct smell?

    Hi Andy,
Thank you. It has been a few years since I have used NG rosewood and I can't remember it having any distinct or strong smell to it.

    Regards
    Harold

When milling and sawing the timber it has a sweet rose perfume. Very distinctive smell.

However the colour can range wildly from a red through to a light amber.

NG has a distinct smell when you're working, machining it, but not noticeable afterwards. Bit hard to describe the smell, but not unpleasant.

I may have an opportunity to sell a similar style of box to this one at the end of the year and was wondering what you guys think is a fair price.
I'll be making between 5 and 10 so they'll be made all at the same time.

Considering the hinges alone are $60, I was thinking between $200-250? Do you think that seems reasonable?

Very reasonable - I'd go a bit higher.
