Box for Sumi-e Brushes
My wife wanted a box to store and display her Japanese ink painting brushes. The brushes have to dry while hanging with the brush down. Lyn also wanted to be able to transport the brushes to her classes.
I decided on an asian themed frame with detachable panels. the frame is made from American walnut and the panels from Black Heart Sassafras. The panels slot into lugs at the bottom and are fixed at the top using a piece of leather that fits over hand whittled pegs. The brushes also hang from hand whittled pegs.

Yes...unique and well done. Love the look.
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

Congratulations, that is really really good work.
As well as being functional, it is well designed and pleasing to the eye.
