Where to buy felt?
Christmas time is around the corner so im trying my hand at some jewellery boxes. I've decided on felt for the inside bottoms, but have no idea where to buy quality stuff. I've been advised to steer clear from Spotlight and Lincraft as they sell pretty cheap stuff. I don't mind buying online, but i guess an actual shop where i can see the stuff would be good - I'm in Sydney.
Thanks!

If you want to finish with a real spiffy look, use velvet.
Top line fabric shops should even have an assortment of colors.

What RV said.
Alternatively, you could go for suede leather, which isn't too expensive. Try NSW Leather and ask about pigskin splits - they come in a variety of colours.

Hey, What Ho, Gallahad,
I buy Self Adhesive Baize, which is like good quality felt and people love it. I get it from:
CWS Store - Self Adhesive Baize | Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies
It's really easy to use and is a great product.
Regards,
Rob

I use felt from Lincraft for the boxes I sell, you can buy it by the metre, i usually cut a foam board to a tight fit for the base and then glue the felt to it wrapping it around the edges and underneath then just press in into the base of the box i leave the sides polished. They look good and sell well, some times it is best to keep it simple. I use Woodwoods flour paste to glue the felt to the foam board, with a tight friction fit the board does not need gluing and does not fall out.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.
