horizontal cylinder box nearly finished
Trying a new formular for posting wip.
Decided I didn't like the appearance of knob for attaching to lid, so thought again.
On my bench is a glass jam jar which accumulates short waste pieces of timber collected over quite a long period of time. (there are carboard boxes of longer stuff as well in the shed).
Emptied out the jar and selected some very short pieces of Wenge and found a strip of Ash from a cardboard box all suitable for what I had in mind.
Made up a new knob with some scary handholding on the sander. (held it against the moving belt at the radius ends). Glued on and held with masking tape.
Well that leaves three boxes now to apply finish. ( I gave two away unfinished a couple of weeks ago, the recipients wanted to do it themselves)woody U.K.

Nipped off the ends of some brass screws to avoid breakout when putting on knob.
Screwed on knob.
Thats another box to apply finish, (3 now waiting) but I have a problem I've started another two boxes with another of my crackpot ideas so might join the to do job.woody U.K.

Another really interesting one "Jow", your creativity is beginning to rub off a bit on my imagination. When I have finished this damned set of 6 dining chairs (I guess at 300 hours work total) I am going to follow your example and try to do something beyond more conventional rectangular boxes. Mind you, I haven't yet mastered the conventional to my satisfaction. But you inspire me to try to "think outside the box". I like your wip series of pictures very much, thank you.
