    Cool Birdseye Huon Pine Live Edge Box

    Hi all,

    I saw a box made in this style somewhere possibly on Instagream.

    There should be a good contrast between the Huon & the myrtle especially with a bit of age the timber is freshly re sawn.

    The 3rd pic is the front of the box. I have not decided on what hinges & maybe a keyed lock. The Huon came down to 10mm after the resaw bit of wave at the bandsaw normally I like the 12 - 13mm wall thickness. The lid will be cut 1/2 way between the Ebony butterfly keys.

    The box may need some small feet possibly in Ebony to tie it in a bit.

    Possibly a plinth style base to accentuate the shadow line of the live edge?

    Very nice work, and an interesting concept. Initially I thought it was a HP & resin hybrid board until I looked closer.
