    Default Parquetry box

I have been lurking here a bit so I thought it was time to come out of the woodwork and show my latest. Materials, ancient redgum (black edging), jarrah, dark brown, hoop pine lighter bits and casuarina and banksia.

Lovely box. You need something precious to keep in that box. Jewels, Dead Sea Scrolls, or something.

Thanks for the positive comments all.

That was just a concept box to see if I could actually do one and to see how hard it was. Well now I think I can and it wasn't too traumatic, just a bit boring in places cutting lots of small bits to the right size. Now my sister wants one for her 50th birthday, damn family obligations.

Holy crap! That's amazing. Totally love it. You've put in a heap of work into that.

I'll have one for my 50th too!

    Looks more complicated than stripping.

My compliments added to those above.

Ivor, some real patience displayed there. Great looking box.

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
