    Default Purpleheart w/ Bubinga

Well after the last Purpleheart box, I said it would be a long time before I worked with it again. That didn't work out so well as I was made an offer to make this box that I couldn't refuse. I apologize about the photo quality. New camera and editing software. Personally I would grade this one a c+ or B-. The customer is thrilled with it, though, and that is what counts in the end. The description:
This box is made from Purpleheart with Bubinga inlay, pulls, trim, and keys. The dimensions are 11"x7"x5 1/2 ". It features one tray 5 3/4"x9 3/4"x3/4" deep. The whole box has been finished with a drying oil (wet sanded on the exterior to a very smooth finish) and buffed out with Canuba wax. The hinges and clasp are made by Brusso. The liner is a velvet type material.

    As Always,
    Gecko

P.S. Been away for a while as I am doing a basement remodel and 1/2 the basement is stored in my shop.

Nice box mate, like the little details such as the splines, is there a reason that on of the inlays is totally differnet to the rest?

    Once again, lovely box!

Very nice. Purpleheart can be a bugger to work. The stripe of bubinga around the outside of the lid really adds a nice touch.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Thanks. Not sure what you mean on the inlays.
