    Default Tool Box

This is a traditional Machinists Chest that was shown in a recent edition of the US "Fine Woodworking" magazine. There were very detailed plans that were easy to follow and I made a few dimensional alterations to suit.
The chest is made from Tasmanian Blackwood and is finished with an 800 grit wet and dry using burnishing oil.

    Wow!
Your not going to use this as a repository for tools? I would put it in the living room and stroke it on passing.

    Big Shed.........
Geeeeeez.... I only wish I really did have a brain.............It was in the US "Woodsmith" magazine...not the Fine Woodworking........
It was Volume 31/No.183 . I think I bought the magazine earlier this year but as you can see, the alzhiemers is kicking in and I thats why I often stand in front of the fridge and scratch my head!.....
Your quite welcome to the magazine if you would like it.

Ruddy, I can relate to that!

Reason I asked is that I have an online subscription to FWW and couldn't remember seeing that project in FWW recently, but I knew I had seen it. Just couldn't remember where (sound familiar?).

Thanks for helping my failing memory, I do have a copy of Woodsmith #183, only read it last week!

Thanks for your kind offer though.

I have the same issue of Woodsmith and wasn't game to try it just yet! Excellent piece of work and I agree with the others that it deserves to be on display somehow rather than being knocked around.

I was looking you up for another reason, and came across this wonderful box that you have made.
With a fine box like that,I would like to see the tools you intend keeping in it.Much better quality tools than I have,I would say.
This box should be inside and have pride of place

Beautiful piece of work, Ruddy. Thanks for pics.

I'm showing my ignorance, no doubt, but would you tell me what the drawers run on, please?
