Dont forget a CNC-Router (Small one for small boxes) for cutting out intricate carvings on your boxes, and creating complex curved internal sections/shapes that would be very difficult and time consuming to create by hand.

For tiny drill bits - say 1.2mm down to .8mm - check out a decent hobby electronics store like Jaycar - they sell packs of 10 or an assortment pack for less than $10 last time I looked. They are used for making holes in DIY circuit boards.
Woodworks (on line only now) used to sell high quality box hinges and latches, along with microscopic screws.
Otherwise, Lee Valley sell them. Dolls house suppliers and 'craft' shops often sell light stamped hinges and latches, but not high quality stuff.
