Default factory stained finish on vic ash

saw a direct to public furniture place today in bayswater and they had some nice stuff on display - blackwood jarrah and vic ash - tables lowboys - pretty classy looking stuff

the vic ash pieces were dark - a goldy almost walnut colour - satin kind of natural lokking finsh like maybe danish or or wipeon poly

what product[s] would be used to get this type of finish on vic ash

    Hi Ray

Check out the wood finishing shelves of your local hardware shop. Brands to look for include Feast Watson, Cabots.... They should have a sample chart so you can see what colours they have. You can also check out their stains on the web, though matching colours can be a tad more difficult.

You can also have a lot of fun staining timber with UBeaut Water Dyes, or coffee, tea......

Best thing to do, is have fun with a few samples first.

    cheers
    Wendy

More than likely for a commerical finish, some type of two pack, or pre-catalysed nitrocellulose lacquer, these types of products also often come with a spray stain, normally a spirit stain of sorts similar to wattyl craftsman, but stronger in intensity and often in a wider range of colours.
