    Default finishing oak staircase

We have replaced our staircase using solid oak treads and handrails. I have no idea what these should be finished with. I know they need some kind of protective finish but have don't know the right thing to use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Post Stair case.

    Welcome Idaho,

I think you will be able to find answers to any questions that you may have here in our little world. Looking at your question I was thinking that a poly urithane would be suitable to your task. I would think that at least about 3 coats once its been sanded would be able to stand up to general traffic.
    Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.
