Frequency Response Curves
Thought some of you might like to see the frequency response curves with and without the chinrest on prototype #4. These tests were conducted by John McLennan with the instrument suspended and tapped on the treble side of the bridge. The microphone was 100 mm away

Barry its great to see you powering ahead. Referencing and recording your results chronologically must be giving you some of the best feedback possible, target projections for more work lol ?
My own methods are still very novice as i learn build methods and tool usage etc but i understand and respect those who use this approach and methodology well done.
Perhaps next life i'll purchase Trevor and Gerards' construction volumes.

Don't be fooled by the glossy cover Steve. I wish I had trained as an acoustical physicist back in 1980 when I began building violins. Violinmakers in Europe and America these days talk about stuff related to acoustics that I'll never understand. However, that won't stop me building violins to challenge conventional thinking.
One acoustician I have spoken to suggested that my designs are too radical to advise on further acoustical improvements.

You know the saying 'everyone has an opinion', but at any rate Barry what do you have next on the bench?
