    G'day Big Shed,

It's very easy to take the router out of the table. Raise the router lift so that it takes the weight of the router and take out the screws fastening the router to the plate, lower the r/lift fully and pull the router out.

To put back in it's the reverse.

changing the bits with the router in the table is very easy, and the height of the table makes it all the more so.

    Default Almost there

    G'day Al B,

Thanks, coming from you given your dusty set-up that's appreciated.

From the outset a major consideration had to be, that I could easily take the router out and use freehand. So I had some thinking to do.

Pics 1 The lead from the switch with the female plug isn't long enough to go around to the router plug ...

Pic 2 So I had to make a short lead runing from the switch plug to the router plug. This new plug also had to run through the carcass, so I drilled a slot ...

Pic 3 The new short lead runs into the router chamber. The router lead is hung off a hook so that there is clear air space for the dust extraction to hopefully be more efficient, it also keeps things nice and tidy.

Pic 4 The inside of the back with copper thingymebobs to hold the lead.

Pic 5 Outside back with pilot holes pre-drilled and countersunk and the set-up for the plumbing. The plumbing has a fair bit of weight so I used two brackets to take the weight. I've used the C/Tec 4" hose to PVC connectors http://www.carbatec.com.au/store/ind...begjvvngnfs2o6 (Big Shed picked up some M-10136's for me on his travels ) which are popped into the PVC.

Pic 6 The back is finally on after sitting patiently waiting after having been cut months ago I finally got it all rigged up and screwed on. There's a lot of screws in it, but then I know it won't fall off.

I didn't glue the back on - just in case I ever need to take it off for some reason if I need to get in from behind.

Next update will be the doors wheels on.

    G'day Boban,

Thanks, I'm hoping it sucks the dust too.

Lookiing good Waldo, you latest post with pictures prompted me to put my mods to to my router table up. Just goes to show that great minds think alike

Interesting to see that the threaded push-on adapter fits inside the 100mm female fitting.

    G'day Howdya,

it was, but I went to put the wheels on and found I didn't have the screws that I thought I did so it's a visit to Bunnies tomorrow.

Clients and a new client decided to throw a stack of work my way with deadlines all at the same time, so it might get finished on Saturday now.

    G'day Waldo and others,

Just back from overseas and am catching up with a shopping bag of mail, 9 weeks worth - unfortunately the ones with windows don't look like postcards - and the famed router table.

Looks great Waldo and should be easy to work with as well as accurate.

    Just 2 things,

    - on the lifter I didn't use any pops or screws - all bits were bolted and spring washered - I wasn't sure if there were any vibrations which may have reared their ugly heads - doesn't appear to have been any on my table.

    - when I have achieved the required height I still lock the lever on the router itself - you could possibly rely on the lifter itself to hold height but I tend to be a "little Irish and check/do things 3 times"
    - "to be sure, to be sure, to be sure".

Other than that I look forward to the next WIP which should be a project using the table.

    G'day,

Just following up after Bob38's post .

I was going to use bolts/washers in the legs of the lift, but I had poprivets handy, a bit of use will let me know if I need to make further changes.

I'm 90% finished. I still have to finish the door to the r/lift and then I'll give a few coats of Poly to the MDF (as per advice of FIL ) as a sealer.

When I've got that all done it'll be final photos etc. A word of warning - the router table is Ruddy big.

I just wanted to build a router table , yeah it'll help with mortice and tenons, but specific projects - I haven't got the foggiest idea.

So... it's really just another fancy workbench?
