Dryout time of newly felled log
I am about to fell a 300mm diam Euodia tree and recover a 2m log from it.
Q1. Can anyone please advise how long I should leave it to dry out before slicing it up on the bandsaw?
Q2. Also, what is the best way to cut a flat surface so it will sit on the bandsaw table securely?
And finally,
Q3. what is the best way to cut it to maximise quartersaw timber that will not cup?
All ideas and suggestions would be gratefully received.regards,
Dengy

Hi Dengy, I can't help you on Q1 and Q2, but the pic below should answer your query on cutting the log

The log should be sawn as soon as possible after felling.
