Default Raising TRA001 router collet in table

I have a brand new TRA001 fitted in a Triton powered saw table. When I first set it up in the table I raised the collet to its full extent and fitted a bit, without any problem. Now I want to change the bit, and even though I have fully retracted the depth stop, I'm unable to raise the collet any higher than about 10mm below tabletop height. The plunge spring has been removed. I feel I'm missing something quite simple. Any ideas, guys?

Did you switch of the router at the switch on the router before trying to raise it above the table, because as a safety precaution it won't raise above the table without that.

Thank you, Peter - that did the trick. I only had it switched off at the wall.

    Cheers

If you forget to turn it off at the router too many times, you can raise a tiny burr on the interlock & it won't go all the way up even when turned off.

Been there, done that, got the scars.

Yeah I have done that as well. It is just that the switch is on the other side of the table when it is mounted in the table and easy to forget. So yes it is a safety thing and also a very good thing to hear that you are switching off the power from the wall prior to working on the router.
