TRA001 1/4" Collet
Hi,
I just purchased a second hand (but unused) TRA001. Its missing the 1/4" collet reducer. I've read some suggestions for replacements (Gifkins, makita, etc), but im wondering if you can just buy a 1/4" collet to replace the 1/2 similar to the MOF router. Anyone find a suitable 1/4" collet?
Thanks
Marshall

If you've got the collet with the reducer option, it will look like this:
whereas the dedicated ¼" collet looks like this:
They are not compatible or interchangeable, I'm afraid. All my efforts to get a ¼" male collet insert to replace the ½" one have failed.
It's not difficult to understand why, when you look at the forces that would need to be involved to close a gap on a small-diameter hole with such a shallow shoulder and such a coarse thread. That was the long answer.
The short answer is "No." HTH
