Nope but like Elanjacobs last guess, you're on the right track.
Nope but a very good guess..
That's right too, but not what I was thinking sorry

Looking at it objectively now I'm thinking only someone with a good knowledge of different brands of tools will get it; but i'll leave it a little while yet

Hmmmmm ...
Hiya Dane.
Is it the level because it's the only tool that doesn't have steel or wooden components ?

I'll try again, I still think it's the round nosed scraper but for a diferent reason:
I'm pretty sure Stanley have never made woodturning scrapers, while every other tool shown has been made in some form or other by Stanley.

Yeah but not a float as far as I know. You're not right, but you're on the right track. Most of the tools are stanley, but think of a characteristic they hold other than that.....

Deesinister you've picked one of the two groups... Many of the tools were made in the USA, What do the others have in common? The one that doesn't fit into the two groups is the odd one.
For everyone---- Look at the shapes of handles

All those tools are designed to be held in the hand while being used except for the level, that is hands off.
Those were the droids I was looking for.
