Ah! sorry, I forgot to address that.

I'll put up some color photos for the next step on the hi-res page.

The truth is that the environment the photos were taken in is very cluttered and the color photos make that really obvious.

The black and white helps focus the viewer on the subject matter. I'll post some color ones so you can see what I mean.

    Thanks for the feedback though!

Hi all, sorry for the delay with posting updates. I've been a little distracted this last week.

I've added a short page on making tenons. By popular request the photos are in color this time.

Are any of you having trouble seeing the new pages? You may have to press 'refresh' or something but please let me know if you're having trouble so I can try changing settings from my end.

I clicked on the supposed high resolution images and was served up a 700 x 525 images. Come on now, that wasn't even high res 10 years ago when I bought my first digi.

What resolution would you like them to be?

I wasn't sure what people expect.

    G'day oldbeamer,

    First up congratulations.

With your photos, you've turned off "maximise compatibility" when your saving the photos from P/Shop, that's why you're getting the artifacts, that is 1 pixel lines running the across the shots. Select it when you save in future, otherwise opening them in newer or older versions of P/Shop the shots will become more infected and will ruin them. If you're using an older version of P/Shop, 7 or ealier - then you've saved with LZW compression - which amounts to the same thing. (I've had to touch up many photos supplied by clients from studios such as FHA, because they had no idea what they were doing)

Thank you all for the congratulations, we're very happy.

Waldo, I don't see the lines you mention. Can you let me know which photos display it on your browser?

I don't use photoshop. The photos go straight from iPhoto into RapidWeaver but I've tested the site on IE6 and Safari and it seems to work well.

I've had some problems with the exports before but I thought they were fixed. If you press refresh, do the lines go away?

    --------------

Ah! forget that, I've just realised you're talking about the baby pages. Yes, I'll have a look at that. It should have been fixed when I re-exported.

    G'day Oldbeamer,

Here's a screenshot, viewed from Safari. Still there when I refresh the page. Are you compressing the pics?. if so the outcome is likely to be the same as if you were doing it from P/Shop.

(just noticed your last comment )

Waldo, thank you for your efforts.

I've just checked the site export on the laptop hard drive and the pictures are correct there. It's just that the corrected images weren't uploaded with the rest of the site last night.

I'll try again tonight when I get home, it should come right!

When I see hi-res I expect full screen or maybe at least 1024 x 768, but the size is OK, probably just don't call them "high resolution", just call them "larger images" or something like that.

Nice WIP. I love the B&W photos, but the colour does show off the timber a little more.
