Sounds like a big job going on there
Nothing worse than the wrong stuff turning up
But, think of the final product, youll be a long time happy in the workshop so a little delay isnt so bad

The lack of posts here shows either loss of interest or lack of decent weather or they are all finished and your all busy installing and using.

    Pat being the exemption.

Well, I know the packs are in Sydney, but the courier will not deliver to site unless A Someone signs for the packs or B a waiver is signed. I found this out at 1735hrs today. The courier's office hours are 0800-1730. Look like tomorrow I will ring them, email them and fax them the blessed waiver and hopefully the pack will be home when I get home. Why can't things go simple. I like simple, it makes life so much more enjoyable.

BTW, did I mention that I am getting a new shed

I am still waiting on the DC, Jointer and Jet wood working vice, which should arrive in the next couple of weeks.

Lucky for me I have a Sparky living next door as the MBS has no power cord, so he already offered to connect it up for me when I am ready.

    Cheers

Latest on the saga. Riteways couriers delivered it to Mainfreight at Prestons yesterday, instead of my home address. Supposedly it has all been fixed and will be delivered to my home address tomorrow, without requiring a signature. Stay tuned for further tales from The Incompetence Hour

Any word of financial recompense Pat? Have these holdups caused any problems with getting your builder back?

Don't know as of yet, I am waiting the arrival of the packs and inspection of the same before I speak to the builder. There was mention of some compensation, I'll wait as above before taking them to task.

They can shout me a new Woodfast Combo Jointer/Thicky

If they look like giving you grief don't threaten them with ACA or This Day Tonight, just email them the link to this thread and point out how many hits it's had. Most people take shows like ACA with a grain of salt, but special interest forums are a different matter, if they stuff you around there's potential for a lot of bad publicity going straight to their potential market.

ATM I am playing nice, so I can get the blessed shed up. After I have the bits and have the builder organised I will start asking the harder questions re compensation for both myself and the builder.

I should not have paid Totalspan (Versatile Buildings Aust.) in full.

Inheritance actually - grandfather was a self taught carpenter and furniture maker, he left me some dosh and SWMBO agreed I could spend it on wood stuff. The shed and electrical are assets of the house so not part of the machinery fund.

All you folk talkin' sheds has got me thinking about whether to go down this track also mebbe value add the property ....missus still wants to move to warmer climes.

I'm tossing all sorts of prognostication around with the why's and wherefore to the whole thing.

However aside I enjoy all your tales of good & problematical that may sway the beast in me.

Cheers and good luck with all the shed goings on.

So a week down here in the cooler climate was enough to quell her interest in the local real estate then.
