Hello Hughie, the Reflecta Cell is $249 a roll, nominally 1500mm x 20m. 150mm overlap, so you probably will require 3 rolls. Easy to install. Available at Bunnies.

I say nominally as both the builder and I used the 20m length do the calcs and ended up with 4 rolls, but we used only 3, so there was a bit of extra length on each of the rolls that I purchased. The gable ends was were we used the "offcuts" of the rolls.

    Dave, thankyou for your concern

Some pertanant facts: the door width is 890mm, table saw width 790 ish and big bench is 640ish. The only things that may have trouble with is one cabinet which is 2000mm ish. The portal height is very close to this.

I will be taking the wings of the saw anyway so that I do not use them the carry the saw and it reduces the weight considerably. I will also have to breakdown the big bench as it tops 160Kg. I think I'll move one cabinet/bench/major tool at a time.

Also if I temporarily remove the weather strips on the inside of the door frame, I gain 30mm width.

    Hi Pat,
Like many others I am interested in the foil insulation. I have a 5 x 4m colourbond shed which I didn't insulate when it was built, and in summer I swear it's hotter inside than outside. So now I am looking at moving stuff around to retrofit it.

How is the insulation fixed to the walls and the ceiling? I presume that a gap is needed between the shed wall and the insulation? Do you seal the joints where the foil overlaps?
    Thanks

For an existing shed, the best thing you can do ( also the cheapest, quickest and easiest ) is coat the roof with Thermashield 2000. We just did our club shed roof a few weeks ago and it's gone from being able to feel the heat off the roofing iron from 12' below it to being able to hold your hand on the underside of the iron now. Amazing stuff . I'm doing my shed as soon as I get the extension done and won't be bothering with the foil or anyhing else. It has a ten year guarantee but I'd still use it even if I had to recoat every 5 years.

Hello BIG, it was easy to install onto the new frame, just haul it over with a rope, screw it to the bottem battern and roof then clad. Retrofitting looks to be interesting. I have some offcuts to which I am going to shove into small voids above the windows and door. I suppose if you are going to line the inside of your shed it will be easy enough, roll out the length required, put a holding screws in place the line with ply or mdf. I may actually try this method as I have a roll left over and to double insulate the western wall.

Vern may have something for your roof, but it is a question of cost. Aircell is around $60 a roll, Reflecta Cell $250 a roll and the paint is unknown. I cannot find a stockist list on the website, Vern, weredoyagetit?

We got it from our local "Paint Barn" who ordered it in for us. When I worked it out for my 4x8.5 roof area, it was going to cost me about $180 but that was a while back (wanted to wait and see how big a difference it made to the club shed before I did it).
My new roof area will be about 4x14.5 once I get it built and I doubt that it will cost me over $400 to paint.
