Uses for 1/4hp and 2hp motors
I've got a 1/4hp motor from a small bandsaw (Ryobi HBS100) that probably isn't worth the cost of fixing (it's old and missing at least the top blade guide) and a 2(?)hp (Power Input: 1500 watt / No Load Speed: 4500 rpm) motor from a Ryobi table saw that I'm on the verge of gutting out of spite and I'm wondering if either of these would be useful in some other gadgets.
The few things I can think of off the top of my noggin are:
- disc/medium to large sized belt sander (maybe the 2hp for heavy sanding and the 1/4hp for light sanding/finishing/edge sanding)
- lathe
- drum sander
- spindle sander (stationary vertical unless I get insanely clever)
- heck, even a pottery wheel would be neat
- would a drill press be too far fetched?
- light duty garden mulcher/shredder
If the 2hp particularly would work for a couple of those it would be kind of cool if I could make the motor (with some kind of pulley systems) easily removable and remountable on different machines.
I'd have at least the plate from the bandsaw and the entire table saw available so the angle adjuster and table top might be pretty handy in some of these creations.
Can y'all think of anything else that someone who works with both wood and metal (but mostly wood -- metal to make wood torturing things) might be able to do with these?
If there's some non-craft suggestions, they wouldn't go astray but all I can think of there is a 4500rpm bum slapping machine
Cheers.

The @hp could be used for a drum sander, lathe, garden mulcher, belt/disc sander.
Wouldn't try a drill press- too complicated for me.
1/4hp - small spindle sander, small disc sander or grinder, underpowered lathe.
