Best of Woodwork Forums
All,
This thread is a collection of links to posts that contain especially useful information. The initial list was compiled be me, however I'd appreciate any other suggestions of "Must read" posts which you believe should be here.
Please reply to this topic with the URL links and I'll incorporate them into the list. I'm categorising them as we go.
Cheers!
PS. I've decided to NOT put tool/machinery brand recommendations here. It's just too subjective.

Setting up a thicknesser
Given a recent discussion with a well known forumite, I think this thread, though extremely short, is worthy of being in the best of the best.
I used it to set up my thicknesser. It works.

Great stuff, but could we have one for wood (& other) glues please?
Yes please, especially I guess for woodies like me who make musical instruments, also boats -we need special glues that are user friendly. In making harps, I need a glue that will never let go under sustained tension, as the regular aliphatic resin glues, like Selley's Aquadhere & other similar glues (I think) -which are good general purpose glues, with this exception. In America, I used DAP Weldwood plastic resin glue, & it was great, & easy to use. I'd love to get it here in Oz, or a similar product.
Thanks, mate.

I'm going to look into taking over this (I have been tidying it up anyway...).
But I need links to look at and make a decision.

This is the biggest waste of time I've ever (not) seen. Not only are the illustrations of peoples' work gone from a saved 'sticky' site ... and lets face it, what's the point of saving a 'sticky' site called 'Carvers Gallery' without the 'Gallery'... but every instructional WIP and 'How to' post has had the illustrations wiped. I rarely get upset over stuff, but this is really baking my bickkies. Why on earth did all those talented carvers spend all that time sharing their knowledge and skills, contributing to what they assumed would be a reference for others? I'm beyond disappointed... I'm disgusted!

I think he is saying that the link to the pan brake article is timing out. It's an old and seemingly broken link now.
