I still think an airbrush could be a possibility for applying water in a fine mist spray.
Reality is no background music.

Just a thought. Boating supply stores such as Bias or Whitworths have rechargable air horns for use on boats. Perhaps one of these can be adapted to spray water under high air pressure. Disconnect the horn of course or the neighbours will become annoyed.

Yeah Bup, there a several suppliers including the manufacturer. Hey, I opened a new box of MitreFix today and the spray nosel was different, it had a tube inserted into the spray hole, which squirted the liquid out like a hose. I removed the tube only to find that the spray hole sprayed out LARGE heavy droplets of liquid all over the joint, which is useless for pen making. I had to fish the old spray nossel out of the bin to use on the new can. I sure hope that MitreFix hasn't changed the design of their spray buttons !!
