Buckeye Burl Junior Emperor
Wife's sister turns 44 next week. She is a vice president of an insurance company. I am hoping she will like this pen (because it's all she's getting). Boiled linseed oil to bring out the color, then the usual 20 coats of CA. Buckeye burl is relatively easy to work, but full of inclusions that must be filled with fine sawdust and CA. Makes it a pain to work with, but I like the different colors and all the swirls. Comments and criticisms welcome as always.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

If she doesn't like it, the hell with her. I'll take the job at the insurance company
and you can send ME the pen.
Beautiful stuff, Cisco

Eh, another wood I don't think we can get in Aus. Looks very nice. What's the different between a Jr Emperor, and an Emperor?

Beautiful pen & finish Cisco. Russel, I have three or four blanks of the stuff in my garage. You can generally get anything from anywhere, just some are harder to find than others. I got mine through one of the pen swaps on these forums (speaking of which, there hasn't been a pen swap for a little while)
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Glad you all seem to like it. Maybe the witch will too.
The Junior Emperor is virtually identical to the Emperor only smaller. In fact, it is such a perfect match that I like to use these as mens and ladies matched sets. While smaller than a full size Emperor, it still retains the same quality fittings and plating that the full size version has. While not as heavy as an Emperor, it is no lightweight toy either. It feels like the quality writing instrument that it is.When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
