A dark buckeye burl Emperor
Occasionally buckeye burl can be very dark as is the case with this blank. I love it. The photos don't do it justice. Looking at it reminds me of some of the Hubbell telescope photographs. Distant galaxies and all that. Or maybe it's just the CA fumes. What do you guys think?

Well, more like the storms on Jupiter than distant galaxies, but it does have that definite cosmic swirl thing happening.
Well done.

Beauty of the Spheres
when words fail! Al, that is a superb blank, and you did it justice with the fit and finish and the kit colour also. A gold Emperor may have taken away from the beauty of the blank. Indeed a space age pen the beauty of the spheres!
Now a space age box with just a picture of the universe as an inlay and then WOP, would probably set it off majestically. Amos (say who is that little green man eyeing the pen? could it be a Martian? is it another alien? No! It's an envious pen turner!Good, better, best, never let it rest;

That is a really nice pen.
I like how the timber has the contrast between the dark greens and bright oranges.
Not very often you see the contrasting colors come through.

I really like that pen. After seeing all these Buckeye burl pens and how good they look, I am going to bite the bullet and make one with the bit I have in the garage.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

I'm not a particularly sentimental bloke and I don't tend to give nicknames to cars, let alone pens. (I reserve them for my hand tools. )
But somehow "Constellation" strikes me as a good one for this particular pen...

Right you are, Skew! Thank you for the kind comments, guys. My wife took one look at it and said, "too dark". While I think it may be a bit dark for a ladies pen, it should make for a fine gentlemans pen.
